            A signed and numbered 18/300 loose print from the Anamorphoses Series entitled "Lys", by late painter and surrealist artist Salvador Dalí (Spanish, 1904-1989) c.1972. The piece portrays what appears to be an abstract vessel-like image, but as part of Dalís five lithograph set titled The Anamorphoses Portfolio, published in 1972, there is more than what meets the eye. Lys appears as a full image, following Dalís instructions: when a print is placed flat on a table with a cylindrical mirror about 3″ in diameter at a specific spot, a new image appears in the cylinder.” Piece is an optical allusions, used by Dalí to conceal "secret" or "forbidden" images in plain sight, with this particular piece revealing male anatomy.
