An Iñupiaq baleen basket with even stitches; the fitted lid is topped with a walrus tusk finial in the shape of a walrus head. Initialed "H.K." on the underside of the finial for Herbert Koonuk of Point Hope, AK (1911-1994), and marked for 631 on the inside of the tusk charger. The basket measures approximately 3.5" in diameter x 3.5" tall.

Diamonds have an average clarity of SI and an average color of G-H-I, and are all set in white gold, flush, and prong mounted. Reverse features a classic trombone style pin clasp. Includes a c.1990 appraisal from Diamonds Unlimited of Anchorage, Alaska. Brooch measures approximately 2.25" x 0.75", with a total weight of 7.8dwt and 3.00 carats of diamonds.
